On the Road for Fall Break

What a wonderful week of traveling to Gallup for Katherine's baby blessing - then to Las Vegas to visit precious ones. Grandchildren have become the joy of life. The clock spins too fast, but cherished memories of all the grandchildren bring delight and are held close to the heart. Of course, all the parents are so dear as well.

Yummy! Roasted marshmellow with melted cheese and pretzel -
the best treat yet!

Autumn From the Past

Autumn is my favorite season!!!! As a little girl, I sang:

It's Autumn time, it's Autumn time
Leaves are on the ground..........

I still hear the song in my mind along with the memories of my childhood, sweeping the autumn leaves into a big bunch and making nests in the leaves, playing "squirrels". Years later, but many years ago now, my little ones played the same. Our yard was full of leaves and children for many years.
Now there are no leaves and no children playing squirrels, but many delightful memories.

Defrosted Food

What do you do when the refrigerator goes out and the food defrosts? Thankfully, there was no meat (we could have had a barbeque). Well, since I had bought a canner the day before, I canned the defrosted bag of green beans (5 pints) made strawberry freezer jam (1 1/2 quarts) from the defrosted, mushy strawberries and canned 14 quarts of peaches that we had planned to eat for the next couple of weeks (love a peach a day)since there is no room in my kitchen refrigerator for anything extra. This is probably a blessing in disguise as we can't store extra frozen goodies or fast foods now.We can look forward to eating peaches for more than a couple of weeks.

Enchanted Garden

Enchanting little Elsa in my enchanted garden.
Fresh new herb garden with a year old basil plant that survived the hot summer and revived after it dwindled to a little twig.

Happy Birthday Joe

Happy Birthday to our dear son, Joseph, who has always tackled life with impetuous enthusiasm. He is like his Grandpa Sevey as he searches for answers to questions and defends his beliefs fervently. He is like his Great Grandpa Joe Chesley with a great sense of humor and a love for jokes. He is like his Opa Bielefeldt with a kind and generous heart. We send him love and joy on this special day.

God Bless America

Marty and I enjoyed watching the Rockin' R Ranch Fireworks from our balcony. We feel so blessed to live in this great land of liberty. May we all unite our prayers for God to bless America through the trials ahead.
